Chamber music with a difference with Ensemble Variante! Christophe Sturzenegger, famous Genevan horn player, composer, conductor and pianist, and pianist Julie Fortier, have an evening full of stories in store for us. The duo will perform two famous Russian pieces in their versions for piano 4 hands:
Pictures at an Exhibition: a suite of ten piano pieces linked by "promenades", written by Modest Mussorgsky in 1874 after paintings by Moscow painter and architect Victor Hartmann.
Scheherazade: symphonic suite inspired by the "Tales of a Thousand and One Nights", written by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
