During this concert, the audience was able to discover a program inspired by two great figures of romantic music :

selected pieces by Frédéric Chopin, including Mazurkas, a Polonaise and Études, illuminating the rich expressive universe of the Polish composer; ;

and the Piano Sonata No. 1 in D minor, Op. 28 de Serge Rachmaninov, interpreted in its original version, a rarity appreciated by music lovers.
Lukas Geniušas' performance put the spotlight on technical mastery and musical sensitivity, The result is a deep, nuanced interpretation of these essential works of the piano repertoire.
🎓 About Lukas Geniušas
Born in Moscow in 1990, Lukas Geniušas is recognized as one of the most captivating pianists of his generation. Trained at Moscow's prestigious Chopin College of Music, he has made a name for himself on the international scene, from Wigmore Hall in London at Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and his recitals at the United States and Japan.
He also recently recorded a complete original version of the Rachmaninov's First Sonata, which has received international critical acclaim, including awards from the BBC Music Magazine and the magazine Classica.

The concert took place in the warm, intimate atmosphere of the Vers-l'Église Temple, as are all the concerts in every edition (with the exception of the New Year's Eve concert). Every year, this emblematic venue contributes to the appeal of the Festival, which offers music lovers eight singular evenings in the heart of the Vaud winter.
